IT enthusiast from the Netherlands — learning by doing.
I run my own Proxmox homelab, build websites as a hobby,
and recently started renting out Minecraft servers.
I'm Ruben, a beginner IT enthusiast from the Netherlands. IT is my hobby and something I want to turn into a career. I spend my free time on everything related to servers, networking, and self-hosted infrastructure.
At home I run my own Proxmox setup with several VMs and containers. I learn best by doing — breaking things, figuring out why, and building them back better.
I also enjoy building websites as a hobby — nothing professional, just for fun. And recently I started renting out Minecraft servers, hosted on my own hardware.
I run my own Proxmox VE setup at home — the backbone of everything I host. No cloud, no third parties: my own hardware, my own control.
My Minecraft servers and monitoring tools run on it. All machines are connected securely via Tailscale. I'm still working on adding a reverse proxy and Pi-hole — those are next on my list.

I recently started renting out Minecraft servers hosted on my own Proxmox setup. 3 plans: Starter (2 GB), Pro (3 GB) and Modded (5 GB, up to 20 mods). From €3/month.

All home servers connected via Tailscale mesh. Secure remote access from anywhere, without opening ports to the internet.
Recently started renting Minecraft servers to others. Hosted on my own Proxmox hardware, managed via Crafty Controller.
A website I built and host myself on my own infrastructure. Built in PHP, accessed via Tailscale.
Built from scratch in a single index.php. No frameworks — just HTML, CSS and PHP. Website building is a hobby for me, not a service.
Splitting my home network into VLANs: IoT, servers, clients and management. Firewall rules between zones for extra security.
